MELVILLE, NEW YORK — Russell I. Marnell of the Marnell Law Group has
been named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list for the sixth year in a row in the practice area of Family Law.
Since 1985, Mr. Marnell has handled more than 700 trials and hearings involving complex custody, equitable distribution, child support and maintenance issues. In addition to being a practicing attorney, he is a lecturer and a contributing writer on the topics of family and matrimonial law; his articles have appeared in Nassau Lawyer, Suffolk Lawyer, and the New York Law Journal, among others. This year, he was interviewed by Newsday and Reader’s Digest on the topics of funding a divorce and the rise in divorce filings in the new year, respectively.
Having passed the CPA exam, he is especially adept in addressing the often complex financial aspects of a divorce, which helps to ensure that his clients receive a fair share of the marital estate.
Mr. Marnell is also AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell — the highest rating an attorney can achieve — and listed in its Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers. In addition, he has earned an Avvo rating of 10 (out of 10).
He is admitted to the bars of New York, California, Nevada and Florida and before the United States Tax Court and U.S. District Court. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a member of the Matrimonial Committees of the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations and the New York Family Law American Inns of Court.
Mr. Marnell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the State University of New York at Albany, a Master’s in Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University School of Business and a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law.
