HEMPSTEAD, NY — Frederick K. Brewington of The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington will speak at this year’s Howard Glickstein Civil Rights and Public Policy Lecture hosted by Touro College Jacob A. Fuchsberg Law Center. The event will take place at the law school (225 Eastview Drive, Central Islip, NY) on November 3, beginning with a wine and cheese reception at 6:00 p.m., and the lecture to follow at 6:30 p.m.

The topic of Mr. Brewington’s speech will be “Turning Civil Wrongs into Civil Rights.” He will give a broad overview of historic civil rights injustices, and discuss the required societal changes that were needed to address these wrongs perpetrated on people who were and, in many cases, continue to be voiceless and underrepresented. Mr. Brewington will also discuss the continuing need for a strong, energetic voice to speak for those who suffer injustice.

While he maintains a general practice, Mr. Brewington concentrates his practice in the area of civil rights litigation, with a focus on affordable housing, community revitalization efforts, employment, the environment, voting rights and fair representation. His practice also includes criminal defense and personal injury.

He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Nassau County Bar Association and other regional Bar Associations. Mr. Brewington is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals, U.S. District Courts of New Jersey and the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York.
